Introduction to Venom Bite piercings

Placement:

Venom bites are pierced vertically through the tongue muscle, similar to a classic tongue piercing. They are positioned symmetrically to each other on one half of the tongue so that two balls can be seen at the top and two balls at the bottom of the tongue after piercing. In contrast to classic tongue piercings, the balls are positioned horizontally next to each other on the lower side of the tongue instead of in the middle.

Venom bite piercings: Everything you need to know

History:

Tongue piercing has enjoyed growing popularity since the 1990s and has established itself as a multifaceted trend in the field of body modifications. Originally popular in the alternative scene, it now appeals to people of all styles.

Placement:

The tongue piercing is pierced vertically through the tissue in the middle of the front half of the tongue. Depending on the anatomy, it may be possible to pierce several tongues in a row, as well as side by side (see Venom Bites).

Jewelry:

For Venom Bite piercings, barbells with a bar thickness of 1.6mm used. This jewelry is also the ideal shape after healing and can be replaced with a different material or other beads with decorations if necessary.

            Healing time:

The healing time of venom bite piercings varies from person to person, but is usually between 2 and 3 months. During the first two weeks, the entire tongue swells, making it difficult to speak, eat and drink. Conscientious care is important during the healing phase as well as after eating and at regular intervals during the day. We recommend the care instructions to be followed exactly.

              Dangers and complications:

As with any piercing, there are certain risks associated with venom bite piercings, such as infections, allergic reactions, inflammation, scarring and tooth/gum problems. To minimize these risks, it is essential to be pierced by a professional piercer and to use high-quality jewelry.

              Recommendation for care:

              • Avoid touching the piercing or playing with it with your teeth.
              • Avoid animal dairy products, fruit or fruit juices, spicy or acidic food/drinks for the first 2 weeks.
              • Drink enough water.
              • Reduce / avoid smoking and drink little to no alcohol during healing.
              • No wet kissing or oral sex during healing.
